Berati, description

Berat   is a town of about 65,000 inhabitants and one of the two municipalities  Berat District that is part of  Berat region  .Berat lands, according to archaeologists have been inhabited by civilized people from the VII century BC. The city inherited from the past a long string of rich historical value, cultural, ethnographic, architectural and beliefs, such that pose a significant potential for tourism.

Geography

Geographic Scope
The City of Berat is initially set up as a fortress on the rocky hill with height 187 m above sea level, on the right side of the river Osumi , before you go out on the field this Myzeqe, the largest of Albania. The average temperature of the coldest month is 7.2 degrees C and it’s hotter months 28.2 degrees C. Lower absolute temperature was –12.2 degrees C and a maximum of 47.1 degrees C. The mean annual precipitation is 928 mm, mainly in the winter months. The City of Portland is well ventilated and the air is cleaner thanks to the greenery within the city and surrounding hills. Agricultural lands are mostly ash-brown, with distribution: 36% in area, 38% in hilly and mountainous area 26%.

History

Berat was the rare cities where life began in deep antiquity without being interrupted and continues until today.
